Side lies roughly 75 km east of Antalya Airport, so starting on the "wrong" side of the coast means a long transfer before you even smell the sea. One local detail many visitors miss: our group boats do not leave from Side harbour but from the Manavgat River pier. What an Antalya departure offers — the honest view
Boat trips leaving from Antalya's old town, Kaleiçi, show a different coastline: the historic harbour and the dramatic cliff shore. If your hotel is in Antalya city, that is a perfectly good day out and we will not talk you out of it. The problem starts when guests staying in Side book an Antalya departure: a long road transfer each way turns a relaxed sea day into a coach-heavy one — earlier start, later return, less time in the water.
